In Kilkenny, chances are as you walk the streets or drive through the countryside, you will have stumble across artisan craft workshops, lovingly selling hand crafted goods from solid wood furniture to small pieces of delicate textiles and jewellery

Home to a vibrant artistic community, Kilkenny is filled with galleries, craft shops and design studions featuring some of Irelands best known designer- makers such as Nicholas Mosse , Chesneau Leathers, Jerpoint Glass, Rudolf Heltzel and Moth to a flame, candle makers.
The MADE in Kilkenny trail features many of of these makers whose studios are often in idyllic settings, offering an opportunity to meet the people behind each beautifully made piece.

Brid Lyons designs and hosts a wide variety of contemporary ceramic pieces, original designs and sculptural work. Brid’s sculptural works are creative in form with vibrant glazes creating a unique character for each piece.
Stone carver Aileen-Anne Brannigan works with locally quarried Kilkenny Limestone and Black Marble, creating individual sculptures, commemorative pieces and carved stone bowls designed to enhance any setting.
MTW Jewellery is a Goldsmith/Designer who specialises in one off commissions. The jewellery is handmade in her workshop, which is open for visitors in the heart of Kilkenny City. She uses precious metals and precious and semi-precious gemstones.
Since 1976, Nicholas Mosse Pottery has been famous for his brightly designed ceramic gift & tableware. His Country Shop offers a viewing area where you might see pottery being thrown or decorated and two floors of beautiful pottery, crafts & gifts
She designs and produces a wide range of functional and sculptural stoneware ceramics, ranging from hand thrown tableware with rich, colourful glazes to highly decorative one-off pieces.
Mark Campden works in the ancient tradition of majolica, creating exquisitely decorated contemporary pieces. Using earthenware clay, tin glazes and his own mixtures of oxide pigments, he paints each piece using highly skilful brushwork techniques.
His distinctive geometric/three dimensional range is crafted from precious metals and set with natural gemstones, especially Tahitian “black” pearl and diamond. Commissions are welcome at his workshop, located at the Castlecomer Estate Yard.
Heike Kahle & Klaus Hartmann work from their studios in rural Kilkenny. Heike makes a large selection of willow baskets & garden structures. Klaus produces a wide range of stoneware pottery using various glazes, decorating and firing techniques.
Andrew hand builds forms using white earthenware clay and decorates them with coloured slips. Each one is a unique piece of art in its shape and decoration. His work is influenced by the indigenous arts of Africa and the Americas.
The outstanding craftsmanship that goes into a Rudolf Heltzel piece is truly something to behold! Each item is handmade using traditional methods that have a timeless aesthetic. Using 18ct gold, platinum and silver.
