Home to a vibrant artistic community, Kilkenny is filled with galleries, craft shops and design studions featuring some of Irelands best known designer- makers such as Nicholas Mosse , Chesneau Leathers, Jerpoint Glass, Rudolf Heltzel and Moth to a flame, candle makers.
The MADE in Kilkenny trail features many of of these makers whose studios are often in idyllic settings, offering an opportunity to meet the people behind each beautifully made piece.

Castle Arch Pottery make bold honest pieces that stand out and enhance any domestic setting be it formal or decorative. At the workshop there is the chance to see the pottery being made and glazed, and the opportunity to buy in the charming shop.
She specialises in horsehair and smoke fired ceramics. She is influenced by the Irish rural environment & likes to create simple natural looking forms with subtle colours and textures. Her love of horses directly influences her horsehair pottery.
We pride ourselves on our ability to craft natural-fibre textiles made with mohair, Irish wool and merino lambswool. We produce a broad range of home furnishings, fashion accessories, knitting yarns and fabrics.
Gold and silversmith, Friederike Grace, enjoys capturing the light in her unique jewellery. She also incorporates gemstones and diamonds into her designs, adding a splash of colour to the precious metals.
Rosemarie creates exquisite hand thrown stoneware tableware which is more reminiscent of china than pottery. The soft hues of Rosemarie Durr Pottery are subtle, yet distinctive and fit into every home and lifestyle.
Ken Foley designs and produces unique ranges of women’s bags and backpacks, all using soft Italian leather. You can see the bags on offer or have a piece created just for you at Ken’s workshop!
Tunde is an arts practitioner specialising in traditional and contemporary hand papermaking, printmaking, textiles and paper art installations. Her recent practice explores reminiscence, recollections and visual aspects of memories.
Inga Reed designs and makes award winning contemporary jewellery for Irish and international galleries and retail outlets from her workshop. Working in precious metals, stones and pearls. Commissions are happily undertaken.
She produces an original range of hand thrown pottery that is both functional and decorative. She explores a wide range of decorative, visual and tactile qualities through the interplay of slips and glazes.
He has over 10 years experience in making one-off commission pieces such as engagement rings and unusual individual items of jewellery. He takes your idea from concept to finished article with his unique design style and skill base.
