“Kilkenny is a real strength”
What do you love about Kilkenny?
“The thing I love most about Kilkenny is its heritage and how Kilkenny people have not just a sense of place, but a real value for it. Be it our heritage, the farming community, the GAA, the Arts, craftspeople - there is a real feeling of connection with Kilkenny as being a strength”.
For Brian Keyes, Editor at Kilkenny People laughter is definitely the best medicine, you will always catch Mr Keyes cracking a few jokes and keeping the banter flowing with a big smile…however admitting usually at his own expense. Having lived in many parts of Kilkenny through the years Brian knows a thing or two about the Medieval Capital, from Goresbridge to 12 great years is Lisdowney to now settling in the City with his Wife Sharon and three wonderful Kids. When asked for advise on secret spots in Kilkenny, Family man Brian replied “I don’t do secrets, I like to unwind in the company of Family and friends, wherever that may be”. We couldn’t have answered better ourselves, moral values are learned from us as parents and Barry clearly has his priorities straight and a healthy work life balance to envy. Working as an Editor has given Brian the opportunity to interview some fascinating people, including the pleasure of interviewing the late Seve Ballesteros, a world renowned Spanish golfer who was one of sports leading figures “If ever a man was blessed with class - not just in performing his own particular talent”.
