"Always look on the bright side of life"
What do you love about Kilkenny?
"The River Nore".
Tommy grew up with Nowlan Park as his backyard and playground, needless to say he developed a great first love in the game of Hurling and today “loves nothing more than to watch his two children play for Graigballycallan”. Music was somewhat of a tradition for Tommy and as we delve into his past we learn his love for traditional Irish music stems from his Grandfather who played the war pipes. His career took off believe it or not in senior infants where he was sent each Friday to sing for the girl’s school… no wonder our Tommy is such a charmer, we bet he was a hit with the local girls!! Tommy learned to play the Bodhran in his teens and never looked back “over the years my talent has given me the privilege to play in bands and sessions, travelling the world and performing alongside some the greats in in Irish Music”. In all his time travelling the world his biggest claim to fame was surprisingly amongst the beautiful Medieval City, having finished up singing “Will You Go Lassie Go” one Thursday night in Ryan’s on Friary Street, Aidan Quinn, Tommy’s all-time favourite actor appeared from the crowd and complimented his rendition!!
