Visit the unique Heritage Site in Jerpoint Park and enjoy a guided tour of the footprints of a deserted 12th Century Medieval town dating back to 1200AD. Your local guide will delve into the history and importance of this once thriving town called Newtown Jerpoint.  Take a step back in time and explore the standing remains of St. Nicholas's Church, the domestic tower and the stunning 14th Century Medieval Tomb. Jerpoint Park also offers Angling for wild Salmon and wild brown trout or why not try something completely unique and come watch our Sheep Dog demonstration, showcasing man and dog working together as one.

Jerpoint is just 2 miles from Thomastown, a quant town south of Kilkenny city and just 15 - 20 minutes from the lively city centre of Kilkenny.

Heritage Tours
Lose yourself in our "Guided Heritage Tours".. Our guided tours depart at 10am, 12noon and 3pm from the 20th April - 1st October. We take you on a short walk through the meadows while enjoying the stunning views of the unspoilt countryside and the River Nore, which bring you to the 800-year-old church of St Nicholas, the Tomb Effigy and Hunts Private Cemetry. Create your own path and take in the beautiful green scenery and continue to follow the path to unearth the footprints of the deserted 12th Century Medieval Town of Newtown Jerpoint. 

Sheep Dog Demonstration 
"Its amazing what we can accomplish when we are in it TOGETHER" Something to take away with you from this experience. Why not take part in our sheep dog demonstration.  Man and dog pulling together to heard both sheep and geese. Joe's Sheepdog, a highly intelligent Border Collie is trained to herd sheep and geese and understands multiple commands from his Master. A show not to be missed!

Angling 
Keep calm and fish on! Get lucky and catch wild Salmon and wild Brown Trout from the 17th of March to the 30 of September. We here at Jerpoint Park have 3km of single bank fishing with good fly water and pools situated downstream from Mount Juliet, and upstream from Thomastown, including the Hunts Pond a famous resting pond for fish.

We can tailor your trip to individual schedules, however require advance booking to secure your date.

Students will experience both nature and history at its best, will learn and have fun by participating in a variety of activities and experiments.
