Ballykeefe Distillery produces premium whiskey, great gin, special vodka and Traditional Poitin in the heart of picturesque Cuffesgrange, Co. Kilkenny. Morgan Ging had an ambition 25 years ago to produce whiskey from his own barley and his dream was realised in 2017 when he produced the first casks. Today, their pure poitín, gin and vodka, and now beef is championed by restaurants and running away with awards – not just for its products, but for its commitment to sustainability and minimal environmental impact.
Constantly innovating to copper fasten its sustainability- this year Ballykeefe added a Visitor Centre which now ranks at the top of the group on Tripadvisor. Distillery Tours open again on 1st March 2019.
Award-Winning Products
Accolades to date include a Master Class Award for Ballykeefe Super Premium Irish Poitín at the Global Spirits Masters 2018, which is normally reserved for the rarest and finest aged spirits. Ballykeefe Potato Irish Vodka was awarded Best Irish Vodka at the Irish Whiskey Awards 2018 and our most recent award was a Gold Medal for our Ballykeefe Extra Dry Irish Gin in the premier ‘London Dry Category’ at the World Gin Awards 2019
Ballykeefe Distillery Tour Experience
Ballykeefe Distillery is an artisan family-farm Irish Whiskey distillery located in picturesque countryside, just 15 minutes outside the medieval city of Kilkenny. A tour of Ballykeefe Distillery is a must for anyone with an interest in Kilkenny’s historical association with Irish Whiskey. Our guided tour enables guests to explore our distillery and discover the ancient art of Irish Whiskey making and the craftmanship that goes into each of our casks. Experience first-hand the sound, smell and feel of a fully operational distillery, with a behind-the-scenes tour teaching the fine art of distilling and of course a tasting of our signature spirits.
Guided Distillery Tours are offered on a request basis. Tours may be arranged, Monday to Friday (excl. Bank Holiday Mondays), subject to availability, from April to October.
