Aran Artisan Bakery

Recently named in the Irish Times Top 100 Places To Have Lunch in Ireland, and Ireland’s Best Brunch at the Georgina Campbell Irish Breakfast Award, Aran is run with passion and drive. Located on The Arches, Barrack Street in Kilkenny City Centre, only a few minutes walk from the Castle, making Aran a great place to grab breakfast or brunch. Fennelly's of Callan

Fennelly’s of Callan is a quirky, arty hub of activity located in the small town of Callan. Fennelly’s is more than a café, there is lots to keep you entertained – such as live music, art exhibitions, yoga and, most recently, the Neighbour Food market.

It’s as traditional as they come, serving breakfast all day long! This quirky and quaint spot is an ideal stop off for your morning coffee and bite to eat before exploring the county. The brunch menu has lots of great choices for kick starting the day from free range poached eggs on rustic or brown bread; fried mushrooms and avocado on rustic toast to porridge served with fresh fruit and Highbank syrup not to mention the amazing pancakes! Cakeface Patisserie a must visit on any trip to Kilkenny and a cake lovers paradise. It is the brainchild of pastry chef duo Laura & Rory Gannon.  Cakeface was born out of the desire to create unique, quirky and unusual cakes pastries and desserts. It specialises in the unexpected and delicious, their range of desserts is designed to wow and surprise and they do just that! The lovely counter has pastries all displayed like sweet jewels. You can also enjoy tasty vegetarian sandwichessoup and salads, sconesgâteau and brioches. They have recently added a charming medieval style Al Fresco dining area at the back of the café. It is a great spot to chill with a coffee and a crafty delicious cake while exploring Ireland’s Medieval Mile. The service is impeccable in this unmissable café.

Enjoy Muse’s Garden Lunch Menu + Weekend Brunch, it’s a truly unique al fresco experience in the heart of Kilkenny city and the opportunity to take in the spectacular serene courtyard garden and medieval surrounds of Butler Gallery.

At weekends, kick back in a sun-soaked glass pod with a glass of prosecco in hand and choose from their new family-friendly Weekend Brunch menu.
