Jerpoint Glass

Watch molten glass take shape at Jerpoint Glass, a family-run glassblowing studio in the rural village of Stoneyford, Co. Kilkenny. Creating handcrafted Irish glass since 1979, Jerpoint Glass brings traditional glassblowing techniques together with contemporary design, colour and craftsmanship.

During the Guided Glass Blowing Tour, visitors are welcomed behind the scenes to learn the story, techniques and skill behind Jerpoint Glass. Led by Rory Leadbetter and the Jerpoint team, the experience offers a fascinating look at the hot glass process, from the precision of the glassblower’ movements to the transformation of molten glass into functional and decorative pieces.

The experience includes live demonstration, storytelling and interaction with the makers. Two volunteer members of the group will have the chance to see who can blow the biggest glass bubble, with one volunteer also getting to smash a glass bubble as part of the experience.

Afterwards, there is time to explore the retail shop and browse handmade glassware created on site, with the opportunity to purchase a Kilkenny-made keepsake.
