Based in a historic mill site, this family-run pottery has built an international reputation for handcrafted spongeware inspired by Irish craft traditions, nature and everyday living.

Available to pre booked groups only, the Clay to Craft Tour offers a behind-the-scenes look at the history, making and people behind Nicholas Mosse pottery. During the experience, you will learn about the production process, hear stories connected to the mill and meet some of the makers and artists who bring each piece to life.

Visitors will gain insight into traditional spongeware techniques, the botanical designs associated with the brand and the careful hand processes behind this much-loved Irish pottery. The experience also highlights the pottery’s strong connection to Bennettsbridge, where the Mosse family has lived for generations, along with its eco-conscious approach, including hydro power from the River Nore.

At the end of the tour, you will receive a small pottery gift to take home, with time to browse the shop and explore handcrafted pieces made on site. Please note that this is a working pottery production and so access to this pre booked group tour may be limited to certain times.
