Learn the art of Intaglio printmaking at Butler Gallery. Throughout the duration of the course participants will take an experimental approach to drypoint printmaking, where you will experiment with scribing into alluminium, before adding colour with Chine colle. Each class will begin with a demonstration and a chat about the printmaking processes we are using on that day, preparing sketches for the plate and the workings of the etching press.
For our last session we will have an introduction to linocutting, preparing sketches for linocutting, exploring different tools, and different ways to print our blocks.
