Are you worried about All The Bad News On The Environment and laugh grimly at it all? Avoid despair and instead come to Comedy in a Crisis for some stand-up comedy, memoir and even hope as we try to grapple with Everything Being Broken and where we might start to help. The show doesn’t pull any punches but provides a consistent thread of hope and resilience for anyone worried, angry or eager to do more about the climate crisis we’ve been thrown into.
With the support of Kilkenny County Council and Creative Ireland we’re bringing you Comedy in a Crisis a very special climate-engaged comedy show on Saturday September 27th featuring two separate comedy performances – Colm O’Regan’s Climate Worrier and Diane O’Connor’s The Accidental Activist.
Colm O’Regan is an award-winning, critically acclaimed author, comedian and broadcaster. A regular at comedy festivals all over the country, his most recent book Climate Worrier was nominated for an Irish Book Award and was the basis for his Climate Worrier live show which he performed in 2024 at the Culture and Climate Action Conference in Limerick.
Diane O’Connor is a comedian, writer and environmentalist with an interest in working on projects that instigate & inspire positive change within communities through education and the arts. Diane has toured her show The Accidental Activist all around Ireland and is delighted to be bringing it to Kilkenny.
MC for the evening is Kilkenny Comedy Club founder and EPA Nepo-baby Cian McGarrigle and as always we’re sponsored by the good people at Rí-Rá Beer!
