Following an extremely successful charity event at Set Theatre last year for the Kilkenny branch of Enable Ireland, The O’Neill Centre. The support on a local and national level was heart-warming and we now aim to bring people together for another night of music with “Improve Your Groove” run by Dj Amos and friends, to raise money for this great cause.
Enable Ireland The O’Neill Centre Kilkenny has provided services to children aged 0-18 with complex needs for the past 40 years.
The services comprise of the following:
-A Children’s network disability Team who provide a full range of therapy services including Occupational Therapy, Social -Work, Speech and Language Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Dietetics and Physiotherapy
-A preschool that provides specialised support for children up to the age of 6yrs.
-A Family support service that provides support in the child’s family’s home and
-A Respite service that supports children between 5-18 years with complex disabilities across Carlow and Kilkenny to avail of our suite of services including overnight and day respite.
Enable Ireland receives significant funds from the HSE and other state agencies, but it is not fully funded for the services that they provide. This means that every year they need to raise money to help meet the needs of our services this year for example they wish to extend the play grounds in both the respite and preschool. Enable Ireland is registered with the Charities Regulator and the Charities Institute Ireland, from which we have received ‘Triple Lock’ status.
