Savour Kilkenny returns to the medieval city for a long weekend of foodie heaven over the Halloween Bank Holiday Weekend, 25th – 29th October 2018!
Get into the spirit as we enter our 12th year of culinary delights, interactive demos and masterclasses with award-winning chefs, quirky dining events, beer and wine tasting, live entertainment, and of course a bustling market.
This is a who’s who of doyennes and champions of the thriving culinary scene in Kilkenny and beyond and where better to host a celebration of wonderful local produce than in the home of Ireland’s Foodie Destination 2018.
Rosanna Davison, The Happy Pear and Edward Hayden launched the festival, and the line-up also features events hosted by Derval O’Rourke, Rory O’Connell, Domini And Peaches Kemp, JP McMahon, Finn Ní Fhaoláin and many more. MC for many of the food focused fun events is Siobhan Sugrue Donohue who along with Edward Hayden will serve up their favourite chefs for your entertainment! There will be a two-day food market on the city centre’s parade plaza which is always buzzing with excitement this time of year. New additions to this year’s programme are the tours, trails and workshops.

The ancilliary schedule also includes an introduction to beekeeping, appropriate seeing as black and amber is pervasive in Kilkenny, an inaugural Savour Kilkenny by Bicycle tour, an introduction to butchery workshop and an organic orchard distillery taste tour with the royalty of all things organic, the Calder Potts.
One couldn’t visit the marble city at this time of year without a little hurling banter at this all important time of year , perhaps it’s inevitable that hurling would make its mark on the programme, too, in the form of The Kitchen Clash of the Ash, with chef Edward Hayden and former Kilkenny hurler Jackie Tyrrell going head to head in a cook-off against chef Anne Neary of Ryeland House and Kilkenny hurler Paul Murphy. www.savourkilkenny.com
