Spice Of Life LIVE! is the exciting culmination of KCLR’s ten-part radio series Spice Of Life, which showcases Kilkenny’s vibrant multicultural food scene. This live event brings together some of the most engaging chefs from the series – each a local restaurant or café owner representing global cuisines such as Polish, Latvian, Chinese, Romanian, Ukrainian, and Indian. Members of the public attending will enjoy a feast for the senses, with live cooking demonstrations, the aromas and flavours of international dishes, and the chance to engage directly with the chefs behind them. It’s a celebration of cultural diversity through food, as part of Savour Kilkenny.
The event is built around live cooking demonstrations and interactive interviews. KCLR’s radio hosts will guide conversations with each chef, offering those attending the chance to learn how dishes are made, ask questions, and discover cooking techniques to try at home.
A key feature of the event is the authenticity and provenance of ingredients. Each chef will showcase traditional dishes using ingredients that reflect their heritage and culture, many of which are sourced locally or specially selected to honour the original recipes and flavours of their native cuisines.
