Kilkenny is home to some of the best festivals in the world, from mega music events and epic live performances to extraordinary stand up shows, with a schedule that’s ever growing and always changing but for now we must STOP and stay safe.

The safety of visitors to Kilkenny is of the utmost importance to us. Kilkenny Tourism are following the advice from government officials for the reopening of Tourism sectors in the county. Below you can see some of the many festivals that will return to Kilkenny bigger and better than ever before in a new world of social distancing.

For now you can dream from home of better days to come!

Kilkenny Cat Laughs

**Postponed until further notice following recommendations of the HSE Ireland to ensure the safety for all. **

We are having to postpone the June bank holiday dates for the Cat Laughs due to the Covid-19 virus pandemic. We were hoping to announce a new date but it has become increasingly clear that under the current circumstances, we are unable to do this. We’re monitoring the situation as it unfolds and plan to bring Cat Laughs to some other weekend in the calendar in 2020. We had another whopper year lined up for 2020 and hopefully we’ll be able to make it happen as soon as the restrictions lift and we can all safely gather and laugh again. If you have booked a Golden Ticket already, we will be in contact with you directly over the next couple of weeks regarding rescheduling.

Stay in touch.

Much love, Team Cat

Kilkenny Cat Laughs festival is Ireland’s best loved comedy festival. This annual invasion is a comedic pilgrimage and heralds the start of the summer season since 1995.The festival celebrated its 25th anniversary earlier this year!

Over the years Kilkenny Cat Laughs has played host to international and domestic world class comedy. And they keep coming back! This festival is renowned for treating both talent and the audience to a warm welcome. Set against the convivial atmosphere and stunning venues throughout Kilkenny, at the heart of Ireland’s Ancient East, the Cat Laughs delivers year after year.

Sunday afternoon’s football match between Irish comedians and “the Rest of the World” becomes a bigger attraction every year.  Karl Spain’s hilarious commentary made this event unmissable.

Running over the June bank holiday weekend.
