Arán Artisan Bakery & Bistro
Artisan bakery and bistro in the heart of Kilkenny city serving delicious brunches from seasonal local produce and stone baked breads with natural Irish ingredients.
All of our breads are stone-baked daily in our bread oven and contain nothing but salt, water, flour and natural leaven or a fresh yeast culture. no preservatives. no chemicals. just nature. All our flours are grown and milled by our friends at The Little Mill built on the River Nore in Bennettsbridge Co. Kilkenny. Because we are big believers and advocates of seasonality and local produce, our menus are like the weather - they can change from day-to-day.
We don't do reservations for brunch - tables are first come, first served - but if you have any special needs, give us a shout and we'll try and accommodate you. For private parties/dinners, birthdays and events, please send us an email.
We are dog friendly.
Open: Tuesdays to Sundays.

Mooncoin Beetroot is grown and handpicked by the Murphy family in the fertile river Suir Valley of South Kilkenny. The success of Mooncoin Beetroot stems from the fact that our beetroot is cooked and jarred in our home only hours after leaving the soil. This care, combined with our unique family recipe, produces beetroot we believe, to be of unrivalled quality!
Mooncoin Beetroot was established in 2012 as a result of an over producing garden patch. Starting with a small patch in their garden and originally just pickling for family and friends, they saw a gap in the market for a top quality home grown, handmade pickled beetroot. They're now growing over an acre and a half of the best quality beetroot for their products. Mooncoin Beetroot represents Irish homemade produce at it's very finest. This care and attention, combined with their unique family recipe, produces beetroot that they believe to be of unrivaled quality.

Breagagh Valley Artisan Meats was founded in 2013 as a small independent Kilkenny based company specialising in artisan meat production. Our founder and owner, George Navratil, studied Meat Technology and Meat Processing in Prague, in the Czech republic. George is passionate about charcuterie, he loves making sausages and other meat delicatessen products. While producing them he uses some old and tried recipes and he is also not afraid to try out his own new ideas. Our shop is little bit different from other butcher shops as we produce a top quality charcuterie. We have fitted a fully automatic smoker in the workshop and we specialise in production of smoked sausages, salamis, hams etc. Our products are totally natural without any artificial additives and have a high meat content. All our products are of highest quality, using only locally sourced meat, and the sausages are filled in natural casings. Our products are also gluten free.
