For a challenging round, check out Mountain View Golf Course. Mountain View opened its gates in 1996 and boasts 18 holes of breathtaking golf over 120 acres of rolling  countryside in Ballyhale. The course consists of sweeping fairways, imaginative bunkers, elegant water features, sensational views and superbly manicured sand-based Tee’s & Greens ensuring year round play. With a fantastic clubhouse restaurant this is worthwhile for the panoramic scenery.

If you are looking for a enjoyable day on the course with an excellent “19th hole” Gowran Park is a must. In 2001, Gowran Park, Kilkenny developed a unique 18 hole golf course designed by renowned architect Jeff Howes. The course meanders in and around the 130 acre Annaly estate with five holes within the racecourse. With the magnificent backdrop of the Blackstairs Mountains this par 71, 18 hole golf course provides an excellent test for the low handicap golfer whilst also being very enjoyable for the middle to high handicappers. A par on the index 1 par four 4th hole with it’s tight fairway and tricky green protected by water will live long in the memory. Gowran Park is particularly popular with golf societies many of whom come on a one day visit but many decide to stay over in Kilkenny city which is only 15 minutes from the course. Visitors are welcome everyday except on race days. However, on our four evening meetings it is possible to enjoy golf in the morning followed by our great race day experience in the evening time. Green fees can be booked online using the link below or by phone.

18 Hole Championship Parkland Course in Kilkenny. Playable all year round due to sand based greens. Close to city centre. Full catering facilities available. The course, which is of championship standard, is set on 120 acres of parkland and measures 5,933 metres with a par of 71. The course is mostly flat terrain with an abundance of trees. Notable features are the difficult par threes, the long par four eleventh and the final four holes which have ruined many a fine card! A feature at the 10th tee is a “Fulacht Fiadh”, or ancient Irish kitchen. This type of structure dates back to the Bronze Age when these ancient cooking places were horse shoe shaped mounds made up of small pieces of stone and situated close to a water source or in marshy ground. After a game visitors will find the clubhouse, like the city - very friendly where they can relax in a convivial atmosphere and partake of the Bar and full catering facilities available throughout the day.
