Taking to the High Ropes at Castlecomer

Weary of the kids bouncing off the walls with boredom? Why not take them bounding along treetops at Castlecomer Discovery Park! This is a family fun day they won't forget. Fantastic activities set in 80 acres of beautiful forests provide the setting for action packed days of adventure. Castlecomer Discovery Park is home to Ireland’s longest zip line so step off the precipice and zip over stunning woodland, two lakes and 17th-century hand-restored bridge. The Journey is breathtaking. Or awaken your inner climber and take a turn on the Tree Top Adventure Walk high above the Sycamore tree tops which at 10 metres above the ground and 140-metre long gives a birds-eye view of the park to those brave enough to venture up! The great outdoor climbing wall has three routes of varying difficulties to cater to everyone’s needs. There really is something for everyone!

Octagon High Ropes

The challenging Octagon High Ropes Course will set hearts racing and adrenaline pumping, with a series of challenges in the form of nets, ropes and wooden bridges on an octagonal frame over two levels. If you’re game – soar to new heights with Ireland’s longest Zip Line, at 300 metres long, and 35 metres above the ground!

There is something suitable for every age and every ability, and enough activity to create an entire action-packed weekend

Fairy Playground

Teaching children to become more active and to discover and play for themselves is important for all ages, so Castlecomer also caters for younger children, with a playground, an elf and fairy village, and series of low-risk challenges where children balance and steer their way through a Junior Woodland Adventure Course, all situated inside a stunning, natural environment that’s second to none. Families can choose to eat in the shade of the forest’s covered picnic area, or enjoy a coffee and snack in the Canopy Café.
