Keep Discovering Yulefest Christmas Festival in Kilkenny

 JOIN THE FESTIVE FUN AS HE TAKES THE GREEN ROUTE ACROSS THE CITY 

Sailing up the Nore, and cycling down the Parade, Santa is arriving in Kilkenny city on Saturday the 27th of November at 2pm. Join him as he takes the green route across the city, by boat and by bike arriving on the Parade just in time to launch this year’s Yulefest. Watch on from the streets or join him on his festive cycle with Cycle Kilkenny. There will be Samba music, Digital Fire Street Performers and the 501st Garrisson Stormtroopers.  It’s the most wonderful time of the year put on your Christmas jumpers and come out and welcome Santa to our Medieval city! 

FEATURING DJs SE7EN INCH COLLECTIVE  

Pop into your favourite Parliament St. eatery, get together with friends and enjoy music in this Yulefest urban pocket park. Our resident DJs the Se7en Inch Collective will be on hand to get you in the Christmas party mood, while the pocket park will be dressed up for the festive season. The perfect way to start off your Friday night in the city! Check out yulefestkilkenny.ie for the Friday Beats menu, collect your food and come on down! Starting Friday the 3^rd of December with DJ from 5-8pm.  

If you can’t make it on a Friday don’t worry the park itself will be open all week. Grab a coffee and come enjoy!  

FOOD AND CRAFTS ON THE PARADE 

Local crafts, tasty food and delicious treats. Kilkenny is world-famous for the quality of our food and craft. At our Winter Market find local artisans and craftsmen & women nestled in beautiful wooden huts. Finding the perfect Christmas gift will be easy! While you’re perusing enjoy live music on the bandstand and pick up lunch or coffee and treats from our lovely local vendors. Open every Saturday and Sunday on the Parade, in Kilkenny city.  

LOCAL LIVE MUSIC ON THE PARADE 

Hear the best of Kilkenny music and soak up the festive atmosphere on the Parade this Christmas season. Every weekend there will be local musicians entertaining you live as you shop at the Winter Market and enjoy street performers and Yulefest events. The Yulefest Bandstand programme is packed with Kilkenny’s finest musicians, choirs and performers. Come down to the Parade and enjoy this free event.

Celebrate Christmas with craic, ceol agus céilí. Organised by the Craobh Osraí Marble City Branch and taking place in the Kilkenny Rivercourt Hotel at 2.30pm on the 5^th of December. Get your dancing shoes on and join the three time All-Ireland champions the Shandrom Céilí band for this special Yulefest event.  Tickets are €10 (plus booking fee) which will include tea/coffee and some festive treats.

Run Kilkenny’s Medieval Mile, finishing at the city’s iconic Castle.

Kilkenny City Harriers and Yulefest are inviting you to join this year’s run which will take place on Friday 10th of December.  Register for a timed run and a race day shirt for €15 at Kilkenny City Harriers. 

There is also a Free Mile Run which is open to anyone who would like to participate, but pre-registration at Kilkenny City Harriers. is essential. Get out for some exercise while admiring our beautiful city through the twinkle of Christmas lights.
