Waterside Guest House

Waterside Guest House is located right in the heart of Graiguenamanagh, Co. Kilkenny. This medieval river town, nestled in the scenic Barrow Valley, is the perfect destination for hill walkerscyclingfishermenboating enthusiasts, and all those in search of a traditional Irish welcome. Waterside is a carefully converted 19th century granite corn store on the banks of the river Barrow.

Waterside Guesthouse, accommodation in Kilkenny, is run by husband and wife team Brian & Brigid Roberts. For the past twenty years they have welcomed thousands of guests to Graiguenamanagh and are happy to stop and chat with visitors about life in this quintessential Irish town. The rooms at Waterside are evolving over time. They are working hard to let people experience the character that is inherent in the building. Waterside was originally a corn store for the boatmen on the Barrow river and everywhere you go in the building you are now seeing that heritage reflected.

The corridors feature the original granite wall of the mill building, solid and extra thick they help to keep the building cool in Summer and cosy in winter. Every one of the bedrooms feature one or two of the original pitch pine ceiling beams, designed to hold great weight of tonnes of bags of corn delivered by boat from Athy and other far flung towns. In fact all the rooms are different in shape and size, but all offer the same homely atmosphere whether neat doubles or large family rooms. And best of all is that all our rooms overlook the river Barrow and the old stone bridge. All rooms have en-suite shower, television, telephone, tea/coffee.

Waterside is the first choice for anyone looking for personality in a county Kilkenny guesthouse.
