Spend a mouth-watering weekend at Savour Kilkenny

One of Ireland’s favourite food festivals, Savour Kilkenny marks the end of autumn and is held in venues across Kilkenny city from Friday 24th – Monday 27th October 2025. Here in Kilkenny, we are known for our fantastic food scene. From cafés and restaurants to artisan food producers and brewers, you will find award-winning quality wherever you look. So, there is no better place to host one of Ireland’s top food festivals!

Now in its 17th year, this annual celebration of Ireland’s diverse culinary scene is a feast for the senses, serving up unique dining experiences, free talks and demos from the country’s top chefs, live entertainment and a fantastic food market. There truly is something for everyone.

Whether you’re visiting for a day of sampling the culinary delights on offer or planning the ultimate foodie weekend break in Kilkenny, here is a day-by-day itinerary with ways to spend your time savouring the flavours of Savour Kilkenny.

Sip & Savour at Paris Texas

Kick start your Savour Kilkenny weekend with Sip and Savour in Paris Texas! This event sells out early every year, so booking early is advised to avoid disappointment! Enjoy a welcome glass of bubbles followed by a five course tasting menu showcasing the finest of local and seasonal produce with a Paris Texas twist. Each dish has been meticulously crafted by Paris Texas’s Executive Chef and thoughtfully paired with a complementary wine from an array of robust reds to crisp whites.

Comedy for Witches at Petronella

Step into the spellbinding atmosphere of Petronella, one of Kilkenny’s most enchanting historic buildings, famed for its ties to Petronella de Meath and the witches of old. Join comedian Anna Clifford for a night of food, fun, and fiery humour at Comedy for Witches in Petronella. Enjoy a 3-course set menu, a glass of prosecco on arrival, and an evening of wickedly good laughter with friends.

Sullivans History Talks

Hear the fascinating journey of Sullivan’s Brewery from the 18th century to its present-day revival with the re-opening of the Sullivan’s Brewery, bringing brewing back to Kilkenny City in 2025. Hear tales of local politics, fire, lost horse bets, and love stories. See first-hand the brewing process in action while gaining insights into the ancient craft of brewing.

Casks & Curses: Interactive Whiskey & Haunted Experience

Join Nevin from Shenanigans Walks for a spine-tingling adventure as we explore the mysterious history of our haunted inn while sipping whiskeys. Celebrate Samhain and Halloween where the veil is thinnest between our worlds by diving into some spirits. Imbibing Art

Join Food Designer Clare Anne O’Keefe at the Butler Gallery for a unique demonstration and tasting. Discover how she creates cocktails inspired by celebrated works from the collection, then sip the results in this special event linking Irish art with flavour. You will see how she translates the colours, styles and stories of pieces by celebrated Irish artists, such as Tony O’Malley, Paul Henry and Mainie Jellett, into creative beverages.

The vibrant heart of the Savour Kilkenny Food Festival, nestled against the picturesque backdrop of Kilkenny Castle, the Parade comes alive with over 100 artisan food producers and street food vendors from across Ireland. Relax and soak up the atmosphere – open on both Saturday and Sunday, with a special late-night market on Saturday.

CRAFT BREWERS & DISTILLERS MARQUEE

Get ready to sip, savour, and socialise at one of the liveliest spots at the Savour Kilkenny Food Festival. The Craft Brewers & Distillers Marquee is your go-to destination for exceptional craft beers, spirits, great music and more. Meet the passionate producers behind your favourite drinks, learn about the unique grains, grapes, and brewing techniques, and don’t hesitate to ask questions—they love sharing their craft!

SAVOUR THE NIGHT STREET PARTY

Saturday 25th October

With the Savour Market open later until 9pm, The Fiesta of Food will continue into the night with a vibrant and family-friendly street party, including street entertainment, live music and the Savour Market! Delight in the offerings from our food stalls, visit the brewer’s and distillers’ tent for craft beverages and soak up the party atmosphere. Make sure to nab your tickets for the Castle Yard Concert well in advance – it’s sure to be a sold-out affair!

Savouring Art with Clare Anne O’Keefe

Hosted by Food Designer Clare Anne O’Keefe, this stimulating discussion will explore the powerful intersection between the kitchen and the studio and ask how food has become a modern artistic canvas. To capture the spirit of the event, you won’t leave empty-handed. Each guest will receive an exclusive set of cocktail recipes created especially for the festival. You can then acquire key local ingredients from our celebrated producers at the Savour Kilkenny Brewers & Distillers Marquee, allowing you to mix your own taste of the salon at home.

Beats, Bites & Bubbles with We Like 2 Party

Enjoy 2 hours of Beats supplied by live DJ, Bites supplied by the Sullivan’s Taproom kitchen and most importantly, the Bubbles supplied by The Wine Centre. Be sure to bring your dancing shoes for this one!

Herbal Vegan Lunch Experience

Experience a unique lunch event at the Avalon House Hotel in Castlecomer, where talented chefs will serve a delicious three-course vegan meal, each dish thoughtfully crafted with herbs freshly picked from Core College’s medicinal herb gardens. Enjoy a guided tour of the beautiful herb gardens, promising an inspiring and unforgettable afternoon.

Global Kitchen Lunch

This event as part of Savour Food Festival will highlight food from around the world prepared by new members of our community in Kilkenny. We will highlight a selection of typical dishes for lunch followed by desert and tea and coffee. Previous Cafes have hosted Malaysian, Lebanese, Ukrainian, Irish, Balkan, Nigerian, Middle Eastern and Afghan food to appreciative customers highlighting the diversity of our various communities in Kilkenny.

Could there be a more perfect setting for Afternoon Tea than the Lady Eleanor Room in the stunningly elegant, 18th Century Dower House of Kilkenny Castle? Afternoon Tea is quite a tradition at Butler House. It is served in the Georgian reception room, with its large bow windows, original decorative ceilings and views to Kilkenny Castle beyond the walled garden. This stunning setting combines with delicious menu of homemade sweet treats and savoury delights to create an exceptional experience.

Six Courses, Two Countries – Kilkenny Meets New Zealand

Chef Ben Davis now calls Kilkenny his home and for one evening of culinary magic he celebrates his Kiwi origins and Maori heritage for this Pop Up dinner, blending the finest local produce to create New Zealand inspired dishes in a 6 course Tasting Menu. Join us from 12PM – 3PM on Saturday, 25th October, for an unforgettable day of family fun, foodie challenges, and Halloween magic – all part of Savour Kilkenny 2025 at Market Cross Shopping Centre. Toil and Trouble await with witches brewing up mischief and magical moments for all ages.

Pizza Making Workshop at Sullivan’s

Little chefs will roll dough, add toppings, and enjoy their very own handmade pizza for lunch. Fun, tasty, and hands-on! Suitable for children aged 6 – 12 years of age, make sure to book early to avoid disappointment!

Superfood Superhero’s Kids’ Illustration Workshop

Get ready to turn tasty, sustainable foods into powerful, planet-saving superheroes! Sunday 26th & Monday 27th October

Join us at the Barrel Yard for three unforgettable evenings of live music, flavour, and festival vibes as part of Savour Kilkenny 2025! After soaking up the energy of the festival parade, head over to Smithwick’s for the perfect wind-down with great tunes, street food, and our signature ales with three incredible and well-loved bands, Raindogs, Burnchurch and Up She Flew.

The Spirits of Ireland

Discover & sample a range of internationally award-winning spirits from the four corners of the island of Ireland. With an emphasis on whiskey, there will also plenty of opportunity to sample a range of additional Irish spirits from world famous names & independent distilleries during this informal 2-hour event.

The Best of the Statham’s Supper Club Series

After a year of sold-out Monthly Supper Club events, Statham’s are serving up the best of the best, a one special night, one standout menu. Led by Chef Ken Harker, savour a bold, seasonal tasting menu inspired by the series’ highlights. Start with a bespoke Stathams Cocktail in partnership with Clonakilty Whiskey and dine surrounded by the beautifully crafted work of MADE in Kilkenny , an incredible craft and artisan collective who will showcase their exquisite tableware and dining accessories to highlight the best of Irish makers.

Rothe House Renaissance Banquet

Join us for a unique dining experience at the magnificent Rothe House, where long banqueting tables are set for a truly social and atmospheric evening. The event begins with a welcome cocktail in the sparklingly lit courtyard, followed by a four-course Medieval dinner with a difference. Clare Anne has created a contemporary menu directly inspired by the history and artistry of the house itself, you will enjoy modern dishes that reflect the building’s medieval structure, its Tudor-era craftsmanship and its Renaissance artifacts.

Fussy Food Plates Workshop

Join Samantha from Fussy Food Plates  for an exciting, interactive workshop where children aged 2–10 get to create their own edible food characters using real, colourful ingredients. Designed to be sensory-friendly and inclusive for all children (including those who are neurodiverse), these 30-minute workshops turn healthy eating into a fun, playful experience. Children will explore new foods in a pressure-free environment, boosting confidence and creativity at mealtimes.

Rothe House Culinary Tour

Step inside Rothe House with Food Designer Clare Anne O’Keefe for a Cullinary Tour through the ages!
This unique tour explores how the historic architecture and craftsmanship inspires contemporary recipes. You’ll leave with an exclusive recipe to recreate a taste of this Tudor home’s unique heritage. Step beyond the ornate facade of Rothe House and immerse yourself in the living history of Tudor Kilkenny.

Camphill Initiatives for Social Enterprise

Dedicated to improving the employment prospect of people with disabilities, Camphill Initiatives for Social Enterprise (CISE) will transform the Taste Stage into a vibrant hub of culinary excellence and social inclusion. Enjoy delicious samples, make purchases, and engage in conversations with the trainees and their tutors, with informative talks, engaging workshops, and appearances by special guest chefs. Learn about the variety of skills being taught, from butter-making and vegetable growing to baking and cooking.

Madra Monday on The Parade

After the paw-some success of last year’s event, Savour Kilkenny is tail-waggingly excited to bring back Madra Monday, hosted by Connolly’s RED MILLS – Leader Natural Dog Nutrition for 2025. Enjoy tasty treats and nibbles, snap some bark-tastic photos and let your pups play to their hearts’ content with playdates and playgrounds. Connolly’s RED MILLS team of pet experts will be available on the day to answer all your questions on dog health, nutrition & behavior. With tons of fun activities – it’s going to be a paw-fect day out for all!
