Kilkenny Tourism is a collective marketing body that is concerned with promoting Kilkenny city and county to the domestic and international tourism markets, and to influencing the longterm strategic development of Kilkenny city and county.
As the primary vehicle by which marketing and communication strategies are implemented, Kilkenny Tourism engages with key bodies such as the OPW, Kilkenny Civic Trust, Fáilte Ireland, Kilkenny County Council and Tourism Ireland to promote Kilkenny as a world class tourism destination. We aim to do this by:
- Marketing and promoting the visitor experience to both domestic and international markets
- Representing the diversity of the tourism off ering across the entire county of Kilkenny
- Assisting and supporting members to sell the destination and their visitor experience
- Collaborating with agencies and other stakeholders to influence tourism development throughout the county
- Increasing the economic impact of continued investment in Kilkenny’s tourism off ering and maximising the audience reach of our digital platforms

Membership FAQ
We extend membership to anyone who is involved in the tourism and hospitality sector in County Kilkenny that adds to the visitor experience of the destination. This includes businesses such as:

● Attractions
● Activities
● Heritage Sites
● Retail
● Festivals & Events
● Cafés & Restaurants
● Bars & Pubs
● Food & Drink Producers
● Craft & Design
● Tours
● Venues
● Transport
Kilkenny Tourism membership is €184.50 annually inclusive of VAT @ 23%. Rates vary for the accommodation sectors. The annual fee for each sector is as follows:
Accommodation Type – Cost Per Room
Hotels – €49.20
B&B (City) – €24.60
B&B (County) – €19.68
Guesthouse – €30.75
Once your membership has been approved, your listing will be added to the Visit Kilkenny visitor directories and your business will be included in Visit Kilkenny communications across the website, social media, newsletters, press releases, promotional opportunities and more. You will also have access to the exclusive members’ area.
All members of Visit Kilkenny are granted access to the members’ area of the website which includes the following:
● Details on upcoming industry events and workshops
● Notes on board meetings
● Resources for your business
● Media library with photos and videos for your use
● The ability to claim your listing and make edits
● Pay your membership fee online
Membership fees contribute to the Visit Kilkenny marketing budget that is used for the promotion of Kilkenny Tourism members through the activities outlined above. Your contribution is also used for the marketing of Kilkenny overall as a world class tourism destination.
