Widely regarded as the closest and most enthralling representation of the legendary 1960’s rock gods, The Doors Alive return to Kilkenny’s Set Theatre on Thursday 30th January 2025.

The Doors Alive recreate the sound, look, presence and magic of a real 1960’s Doors concert, perfectly and effortlessly transporting the audience back in time with classic hits such as “Light My Fire”, “When The Music’s Over”, “Riders On The Storm”, “The End” and many more.

Since forming in 2005, The Doors Alive have played over 1,000 shows under their belt to date and, despite a few changes, the current line-up is the best it has ever been!

The Watergate Theatre looks forward to welcoming back the rip roaring ensemble The Highstool Prophets on 14 February.

The Highstool Prophets have been blazing a trail in the Irish Folk Music scene for a number of years now. Most notably, their cover of Scottish singer Amy MacDonald’s hit, “This is the Life” has exceeded 14 million hits across online streaming platforms, with the artist noting it as “the best cover of the song, by a country mile!”

On January 30th 1984 it is said that the whole of Ireland grieved the early death of Dubliner Luke Kelly. He has left an indelible mark as being the greatest folk artist of the20th Century and his music is widely regarded as one of Ireland's cultural treasures.

Created and performed by the renowned Dublin singer and multi-instrumentalist Chris Kavanagh, this 90 minute show with multi-vision background throughout brings the audience on a journey through Luke’s music and has received rave reviews in Ireland and abroad.

Declan has gone on to have a super career that has spanned over 4 decades at the top of Irish Country Music winning many accolades along the way and scoring countless hits with his catalogue of trademark song.

One of the great storytellers, Ralph McTell, is now celebrating more than 50 years on the road. Known for his virtuoso guitar style, he is primarily a prolific and gifted songwriter. With a style that invites you into a unique world, he weaves a narrative that is both significant and poignant.

Significantly, they are the only band in the world to have performed Kate’s music with her original bass player and long standing sound engineer Del Palmer, as well as drummer and percussionist Preston Heyman who appeared on the Tour Of Life, Never For Ever & The Dreaming. The band has also performed with Stewart Avon-Arnold - Kate’s co-choreographer and dance partner who appeared with her in so many of those iconic videos and performances throughout her career. That’s quite an endorsement for Cloudbusting but it also stands as a reflection of the talent, tenacity and passion that the 5-piece band has for Kate’s captivating music.

Roll With It (The Ultimate Oasis Experience) formed in 2013 to bring the music of the Gallaghers to the live stage in Ireland and beyond. Having been on continual tour since then, the band have performed hundreds of shows to thousands of fans, with countless sell-out gigs in many of the country’s top venues.

Their setlist spans all seven albums and includes the hit singles right through to the acoustic B-sides.

The band is made up of experienced musicians with a passion for the greatest band of the nineties, who aim to give audiences the best singalong since Knebworth.

The frontman and lyricist of the Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd (PiL) caused a political earthquake and transformed music for good. In his spoken word show, I Could Be Wrong, I Could Be Right, Lydon is touring the UK. He will talk about how he sees life, along with his unique and extraordinary career, and take audience questions during a pyrotechnic, one-off tour. Lydon will be sharing his thoughts with audiences. This is the success story of Kildare ballad singer Dan McCabe.

Dan comes from a long lineage of folk musicians and commenced his career in music at an early age. Dan would eventually go from strength to strength in this genre of the industry and consequently it became his full time occupation.

Due to the Covid 19 lockdown and the lack of opportunity to benefit from ‘Live Music’ performances Dan turned his focus to posting self-made videos of his music on social media platforms, merely as a pastime and an escape from the hardship and gloom of the pandemic. Completely unexpectedly these recordings would be viewed over 12 million times online and as a consequence it also caught the attention of senior producers at RTE.

Harvest (a tribute to Neil Young) are an 8-piece band who have been thrilling audiences and Neil Young fans all over Ireland for 15 years.

The band played a stunning show at the Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre in August 2024 and are delighted to be performing in Kilkenny again, at the Set Theatre in October 2025.

Patrons can expect to hear the band perform fan favourites from Young’s albums “Harvest”, “After the Gold Rush”, “Harvest Moon” and “Freedom”, to name but a few.
