Kilkenny Castle
The original Anglo-Norman stone castle was built during the first decade of the thirteenth century. There have been additions and alterations made to the fabric of the building throughout its long history making it an impressive structure showcasing various architectural styles.
Year-round tours are available and they take approximately one hour to complete. Be sure to check times in advance as they vary season to season. The parkland of the castle has 50 acres for you to explore and it is the perfect place to have a picnic.
There’s even a playground for the children. There are other attractions just a stones throw away such as the Kilkenny Design Centre, the perfect spot for picking up a souvenir of your time in the city.
