Goatsbridge Trout Farm

If you’re passionate about seasonal produce, you’ll love the fresh trout from the crystal-clear waters of The Little Arrigle River in the heart of The Nore Valley, which is available direct from the gates of Goatsbridge Rainbow Trout Farm.

Goatsbridge is one of Ireland’s best-known trout farms, and its history dates back over 800 years when the monks of the nearby Jerpoint Abbey fished the very same waters. Today, husband and wife team Mag and Ger Kirwan continue the proud tradition of purity and sustainability and have incorporated a state-of-the-art processing and packaging facility to the business to help prepare, cure, smoke, slice and package their daily catch.

Visitors can pop in to see the trout ponds and interesting visitor centre without booking, to sample and buy products like fresh and smoke trout fillets, pâté and Caviar, whilst more informative tours to discover the farm heritage, family history, traditional farming system and the importance of biodiversity are also catered for.
