The great thing about a visit to Castlecomer Discovery Park is that you can spend a morning there or go all out and make it a day-trip! There is literally so much to do!  So, get an early start and head to the beautiful 80-acre woodland park where you can enjoy both indoor and outdoor experiences including a treetop adventure walk, climbing wall, woodland trails, zipline and octagon, canoeing, archery along with what the town is originally known for, a Coal Mining Museum. Castlecomer also has a craft yard, where you’ll find artists there selling pottery, silver jewellery, interiors, fine art painting, fine jewellery and ceramics. So, while there, take a class and reveal your ‘creative crafty’ side or pick up a memento from your visit!


All Aboard for a City Train Tour

It’s back to the city for a new kind of afternoon adventure aboard the Kilkenny Road Train. Starting from Kilkenny Castle you will be taken on a 30-minute tour through the streets of Kilkenny, along the way you’ll see many historical sights including St. Canice’s Cathedral, St. Francis Abbey Brewery, The Old Court House and many more. The kids will love this journey, reminiscent of the stream trains gone by and they will have plenty of opportunity to take some photos along the picturesque lanes and streets of Kilkenny!

We reckon every house has at least one  “thrill seeker”, who is fearless even at the highest speeds! Well, a visit to  Kiltorcan Raceway will test his or her fortitude as they experience high-speed go-kart circuits.  Whether you’re new to karting or are an experienced driver, the state-of-the-art karts paired with our outdoor super smooth 1000 metre all-weather, floodlit karting circuit will offer you the buzz of a lifetime.


Nore Valley Park

Before you head home, make time for one last location that promises to be guaranteed hit with younger kids!  Nore Valley Park offers a host of entertainment rain or shine. Cuddle a rabbit, feed the baby lambs, or create comical family memories with lawn games like giant chess, crazy golf, an indoor maze, tractor trailer rides, and much more.
